Dealing with Bullying and Harassment at Work (1/2 day)

This is a basic awareness workshop for all staff, delivered in a facilitative way to engage people in discussion about an often difficult and emotive subject. The facilitator is experienced at managing people’s emotions, different points of view and defensive behaviour. The workshop is safe (no blaming and shaming) and works toward gaining aligned perceptions and personal commitments to zero tolerance of bullying and harassment.

Managing Bullying and Harassment at Work
(1 day)

This is a workshop for managers, supervisors, or team leaders. It takes the basic awareness material of identification of bullying and harassment, effects on people and organisations, options for individuals to deal with bullying and harassment, and includes additional material to help equip managers to address bullying and harassment effectively. Attendees will explore traps and pitfalls as well as explore how to challenge behaviour and how to intervene to “nip things in the bud” and resolve issues between people. Attendees will also have a chance to look at their own behaviour as managers, and consider what they can do to lessen the likelihood that someone may perceive them as a bully or harasser.

Equipping Contact Persons at Work (2 days)

Contact persons are employees within an organisation who are trained to be first points of contact for anyone who wants to talk about bullying or harassment issues, and who may not be ready to raise issues with management. The Contact person’s role involves provision of information and basic support within the work environment. Contact persons are trained to listen non-judgmentally, provide information on workplace bullying and harassment, discuss options with people, assist in decision making, and maintain strict confidentiality. They also act as catalysts for change, challenging mind-sets and spreading the message of zero tolerance.

Mediating Conflicts at Work (2 days)

This is a basic entry level workshop designed to equip people to conduct in-house mediations at work, whether they be shuttle mediation, direct mediation or round-table mediation. It is skills based and theoretical. Attendees will be provided with the opportunity to develop their skills and to facilitate a process of conflict resolution.
