Mobbing
Mobbing is a term that was initially used to describe workplace bullying. Mobbing usually involves a group of people bullying another person usually with the intention of causing suffering to that person.
Mobbing has been linked to the study of ornithology (bird behaviour) where for example with chickens, one chicken will be attacked by the others until they die. Mobbing occurs when individuals gang together to bully an individual. Each person may only contribute in seemingly insignificant ways but the overall cumulative impact on the person targeted can be significant.
